Annalisa Ewald, classical guitarist, began her studies as a protegeé of  Sophocles Papas, the famous colleague of the legendary guitarist Andrés Segovia. She debuted at age 13.

 

She later studied liberal arts at St. John's College, Annapolis, classical guitar performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Bard College and historical plucked strings with Juilliard Department Head, Patrick O'Brien.

Her virtuoso performance at the venerable Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C. inaugurated their prestigious Embassy Row concert series; numerouos concert grants from the New York State Council on the Arts followed. Her solo CD won rave reviews from critics and charted at No. 8 on Billboard's classical chart .

She enjoys teaching students of all ages to play the classical way.
